Big company benefits for smaller tourism businesses
Which way does a small tourism business turn to keep up with the times?
Competition and change can be a daunting prospect especially for the many independent operators who make up 92 per cent of tourism businesses in the Dorset and the New Forest.
Now, the kind of benefits which give large organisations and their employees the edge are readily available to small tourism businesses through the Dorset and the New Forest Tourism Partnership.
As part of a rolling programme the Partnership's Business Development Service provides small businesses and its workforce with the support, training and management information needed to secure their future on the world stage.
Established in 1995, Business Development is part of the wider Dorset and the New Forest Tourism Partnership, more about which can be found by visiting about DNFTP.
Creating a sustainable future for tourism in the area means updating skills, and keeping ahead of visitor demands. It means ensuring future employability, quality and, where appropriate, working with new technologies. The Business Development Service secures finance from government and European funds, local authorities and external bodies to make sure the skills needed to move with the times reach even the smallest operators in the furthest corners of the region.
