Role

To strengthen and co-ordinate the tourism marketing and promotion of 'Dorset and the New Forest' for the benefit of the visitor, local industry, community and environment by adopting an innovative and fully inclusive partnership approach to all activities.


Aims
  1. To strengthen and develop a cycle of annual overseas tourism marketing programmes by presenting Dorset and the New Forest as an identifiable region.
  2. Increase consumer demand and develop a range of Dorset and the New Forest tourism product offers.
  3. To deliver programmes through a co-ordinated network of partners and further develop partnerships with all appropriate interests.
  4. To ensure all activities reflect the principles of sustainable development.


Overseas marketing activity falls mainly into three sub-groups, each representing the Panel's agreed target markets:
Within these markets, a combination of press visits, attendance at overseas exhibitions, advertising and work with trade operators wherever possible is used to raise the profile of the sub-region and generate enquiries.
