The marketing team actively creates awareness of the Dorset New Forest brand - a seamless destination that offers a richer visitor experience combining the appeal of coast, countryside and heritage.
- Generating visitor, travel trade and press visits
- Creating themes and packages
- Advertising at home and overseas
- Pooling together for a bigger splash
This function of the Partnership aims to strengthen awareness of Dorset and the New Forest as a leading UK destination and increase visitor spending and enterprise performance especially out of season. The Dorset New Forest brand is most active overseas while in domestic markets it helps provide a context for individual campaigns.
The marketing of Dorset and The New Forest brand - the complete destination - is supported by all local authorities in the region. All contribute to the joint promotion of Dorset & the New Forest recognising that together a greater impact can be made upon both awareness and visitor experience.
Direction and implementation of the Partnership's marketing activity is provided by the Promotions and Marketing Panel comprising tourism officers and trade representatives from throughout the sub-region each contributing knowledge and experience.

The destination has a colour brochure and website specifically to promote the brand abroad.
Domestic Marketing
In line with the Partnership's philosophy of engaging only in those joint activities where most benefit can be found, domestic marketing activities are designed to supplement and provide a context for individual local authority campaigns.
Both overseas and domestically the subregion works extensively with South West Tourism and Tourism Southeast.
