to aid big company marketing and economic decisions also provide stimulating
statistics for every local business.
- Our visitors - who, why, where & when
- Our industry, its image, value & needs
- Tourism trends, the big picture
- Facts & figures at your fingertips
Based within the Market Research Group, Bournemouth University the Dorset
Tourism Data Project (DTDP) aims to be a leading resource in tourism
research for all tourism businesses and local authorities, providing
expertise and specialist local and regional tourism research information. It
researches visitor behaviour, occupancy and attraction levels as well as
visitor perceptions - what they like and what they don't.
The Dorset Tourism Data Project Team was originally established in 1990 and
is now managed by Bournemouth University. It is a partnership between the
University, Dorset County Council, Bournemouth Borough Council, Dorset
District and Borough Councils and the regional tourist boards. The Data
Project provides tourism trend information to assist marketing, business
